Came across somebody saying something about the fuel light goes on, but when he fills up it only takes 16 gals when he has a 19 gal tank. Same here. Seems like i run it till i figure it would be runnin on fumes but i only put in a little over 16 gals. This normal? Bout a 3 gal safety reserve?

should be pretty normal, jeeps are not known for getting good gas mileage! lol and most cars give you 40+ miles afte the light comes on.

Part of what you're experiencing is that the very upper inch or so of the tank should not be filled. If you do, it causes problems with the vapor recovery system. Over filling is not recommended though I don't often stop at the first shut off of the pump handle either. Just don't fill it to the top of the filler tube.
For a much better explanation, go to HappyTrails4wd.com and check out the article Your Fuel Tank Level is Important. It explains the need for expansion too.

Hmmm I disagree I can get. 70 or 80 miles out if the fill tube alone.... Of I drive like a grandma!! I have an 06 2.4L with a 19 gallon tank. I get good milage of I fill it.... But if drive like normal person. The gas mileage is just as bad as any worthless four banger!!!
