Hello everyone --
We've got a 2006 Liberty with the 3.7L V6 that won't start. All was OK yesterday, this AM, you could hear the rear lift gate power lock repeatedly cycling. Dome lights were dim. Wouldn't turn over at all.
I cleaned the battery posts and cable terminals and put the battery on a charger. Charger only showed a few amps going into battery, so it looks like it's fully charged. (Haven't tested it yet -- plan to take it to the auto parts store later.) Hooked the battery cables back up, same problem.
I put my charger in 100 am boost mode, and tried for a start. Got a loud ticking sound from the engine compartment, but didn't turn over.
Are these Liberties are prone to some sort of electrical problem I should know about? I'd think the vehicle should at least jump start even if the battery is on its way out.
Thanks.
