2005 Wrangler Unlimited Locking Rear Diff

I am looking at a 2005 Wrangler Unlimited. Hard Top, 6 Speed.

The Dealer has a feature listed "locking rear differential" However I do not believe this is a factory option for this vehicle. (rubicon online with the factory lockers, correct?)

It is possible that this is aftermarket, but I thought I would ask here first to see if anyone knows.

Thanks,
Brian

The Rubi is the only model with selectable lockers from the factory.

I would inspect the diff and look for any additional wires or air lines coming from the diff or cover.

I don't think it was standard (although it may have been) but all of the TJ Unlimiteds I have seen have had D44 rear ends; what the dealer may really mean is it comes with a limited slip rear end.

I have found that not all Jeep dealer sales people know what they are talking about when it comes to product knowledge. I had a sales manager not long ago at a jeep dealer close to Portland, Oregon try to tell me a TJ Unlimited was a YJ. In fact the guy all but called me stupid when I pointed out the error of his way. Needless to say they didn't get any of my money.

Likewise.

I agree. There has been an increase of lawsuits on this issue where the salesman promised the buyer that the vehicle is equipped with this and that and as it turns out it is an option that CAN be added upon customers request. JK's is one of them. The center dash panel is equipped with a multitude of switches that is available as an option but not installed. U-connect feature is one of the biggest complaints from the consumer. Since the button is there, they figure that the Jeep is equipped with it. NOT all are equipped from the factory.
