1992 Cherokee a/c questions

Tried to put r-12 into my jeep last night. Hooked up the hose, punctured the can, loosened the valve....unit di not take any freon. Had to disconnect. What is the correct procedure and did I leave something out?

Also....fan works sporatically AND blows only out the defroster vents. What causes these problems? Need a new switch or relay? Thanks!

did you have the engine running? also do you know if it was converted to r-134? I would get a hose with the gauge on it so you can see if its working. as for the fan, check your wiring first. my fan would work sometimes until i traced the problem to behind the glove box to a connector. It is old and loose and I had to jimmy it so it wouldn't move around anymore.

engine running, a/c on max....not a 134 conversion...still r-12.

did you have the valve opento the low presure line? most of the time it turns to the right to open instead of the left
