1974 CJ info wanted

It looks like I'm getting very close to owning my first Jeep. Unfortunately, the owners of the one I am about to buy live in one place and have the Jeep at their 2nd home, which they won't be at until July 4th weekend. So I should be getting it then. But I do not have too much info on the Jeep yet. It's a 1974 CJ. I chose to buy one pre 1975 because of California smog laws. So I found this nice one that has been owned by the same owners for 25 years and it has the original drive train. But all I know is that it has a V8 and a three speed stick. I would like to get some of the specs on what it may have as far as its components but I don't know exactly where to look. Can anyone help me find out more info on the '74 CJs?

It has a 304 V8 , 3 Speed stick,Dana 20 transfercase, Dana 30 front
Dana 44 rear (one piece shafts) Swap in a Jeep T18 (76-79)and you got a nice wheelin' rig.

One thing comes to mind with a Jeep this old, memory fades with time sometimes and while it may be the original owner, there may be alterations to elements of this Jeep, beware.

This is a good capable jeep but as it is a 74 will be prone to frame cracking, in particular just behind the motor mounts. 72 through 75 used a "C" channel frame that was only "boxed" at the motor mount area to support the V8, but not much. If this is a one owner not driven hard jeep it may be in fair shape but still could have cracks. You can make repairs if needed and boxing the frame easy enough; it's the Mickey Mouse repairs done by the mentally challenged that can take a lot to repair.
