1" Taller Motor Mounts On a 2.5L

Hey folks,

I plan on installing a 1" body lift to go with my current set up (2" spacer lift with 32" tires). At first, I was not planning on doing the taller engine mounts. Many say it makes the body lift install easier. I would think it would be easier just to install the fan shroud lift and whatnot, but what do I know...

Would it be wise to do the 1" taller motor mounts on a 2.5L TJ? What would the potential problems be with that? Whats involved with installing new motor mounts, and is it worth it?

I currently have no driveline vibes and wouldnt see a 1" BL effecting my driveline either. If a motor lift is going to effect my steering and whatnot in a poor way, I don't see how it would be worth it for me with the smaller engine.

If your only doing a 1" body lift and 2" spacer lift you dont need to do the motor mount lift. Relocate the fan shroud its easier. Some people use the motor mount lift to angle the engine and drive chain closer to the stock angle of the drive shaft. Since you dont have vibes you dont have to. They lift the motor and do not drop the skid plate. Gives more clearence under the skid. If you lift the motor you can do a belly up skid plate and get more clearence. Your choice and it depends what you want to do in the future.

Forget the motor lift and just trim the fan shoud. Don't go through the expense and hassle if relocating it. Just my opinion.

With a one inch body lift you shouldnt even have to touch the fan shroud. When I put in my one inch body lift the fan to shroud clearance was fine, in fact my MORE 1" kit didnt even come with relocation brackets...

With your particular set up, A 1" motor lift does not sound needed! I am running a 4" lift with 1/2" shackels and will be installing a 1" body lift this summer, I have a SYE already, but will be installing a 1"motor lift only to simply move my motor higher up for better clearence!!
