Welcome to jeeps.com . Don't know the Liberty well and don't have a wiring diagram for it but it really sounds like a short is causing the fan to stay on. The power to the harness connector must be traced back to the PDC ( power distributor center) . I doubt it is a problem at the climate control on the dash bit I won't say no either since I don't know that particular control and if a short can develop their either. The a/c cycles when on or in defrost and the electric fan(s) go on so maybe this needs to be considered. But start from the harness plug working back to the PDC. Expecting the short or problem to be there (maybe). Incidentally , the fan relays are hanged with the a/c clutch relay so look there as well . If a/c is off when fan running wild , look,for an alternate coolant sensor or fan switch besides the coolant temp,sensor . Something , somewhere is causing a short that is allowing power to the fan(s).
