01 cherokee motor in 00 grand cherokee

i have a 2000 grand cherokee with a 4.0 liter in it a want to know it a 01 cherokee 4.0 will fit and run fine both have coil packs

if the engine looks the same then it would be safe to guess yes. i can out your 01 engine into my 87 though, just so you know. i would have to do a little wiring though for a new engine to work in my amc jeep
