    TFI ignition upgrade

I believe it will only work with the 258 carb motor. I have a 96 XJ Cherokee with a 4.0 that had a slight skip sometimes at idle. I checked into upgrades and decided to go with the "cheaper and easier apporach" first. I bought an Accell cap rotor, wires and plugs kit from 4WD Hardware...

    1988 XJ Exhaust

I bought the DynoMax cat back from Summit and I'm quiet happy with it. Didn't break the bank, was easy to put on and isn't too loud. Has a very nice rummble.

    Opening a can of worms......

O.K. Here goes. I know I'm opening a can of worms by asking this and in a way it's a good thing cause I know I'll hear from everybody. I've grown to the point that I can't stand listening to the tick, tick, tick of the exhaust manifold on my 96 XJ 4.0 any more and it's time to replace it with a...

    Oil sender fitting

Took the fitting off yesterday and found no cracks ( it's not brass ). Going to put back on and check. I know it's coming from the joint at the fitting and the adapter. Cleaned everything off before to confirm where it's coming from and I know it's not the O-rings. Can't do it tonight cause it's...

    Oil sender fitting

On the sender? It came with sealant on the sender and I can see that it's not coming from the sender but the base of the fitting.

    Oil sender fitting

If you've read I changed my oil guage sender about 5 weeks ago (96 XJ 4.0) and the leak had stopped. Now I have a new leak coming from the base of the fitting that the sender screws into on top of the oil filter adapter. I really didn't apply much pressure taking the sender off and on so don't...

    Roof console

I just bought a roof console form a 93 XJ and going to put into 96 XJ. The haynes repair manule has no diagrame for the console. All they show is the pink wire going to interior lights. How do I hook this up ? There was a video unit where the rear dome lamp was. Now I have 3 wires, 1 red, 1...

    Oil pressure sender

No smaller fitting on the old or new one. Goes from 27mm "nut" then 45 deg. sloped to the threads.

    Oil pressure sender

I have 1 wire allso, though it's a 2 wire connector. So you'll be needing the 95' part. Just a FYI you'll need a 27mm wrench to take it off and on. I was stuck using a large adjustable and it wasn't fun.

    Oil pressure sender

Solved the problem ! Though I have a 96' it has a 95' sending unit in it. The 2 pin that EVERYBODY shows as listed for the 96'. The 1 pin that was in my 96' is listed for the 95'. Don't know if this will help anyone here in the future but the Autozone part # for the 2 pin is PS271, the one for...

    Oil pressure sender

Went to AutoZone to buy new sensor. Old one 2 term, new one 1 term. Oh don't worry you have 1 wire going to it. It will work. Well it don't, second you start it it pegs past 80. What's up ?

    Oil pressure sender

I thought it was coming from the sender. I cleaned it off to find where it's coming from the best I could but the fan blows it around alot. The oil gauge was not working right so I figure it's the sender. Hard to tell where they're so close. Have to fix that anyway so try first. If it is the...

The same exact thing happened to me on my 96 XJ. Glad I read about it here. Was all set to run out and buy a new starter.

    TFI ignition upgrade

If you have a Ford distributor on your CJ you should be able to use parts from a 302.
