    '87 Wrangler valve cover gaket

I had an 87. If it's the plastic valve cover, I never got mine to stop leaking until I put on an aluminum cover. I've also had it leak around the oil pressure sensor.

    Allstate Gear? for ax5 parts

Ok. I've totally lost it. Danged Droid didn't show me that I was the one who started this thread. All it showed me was the last post. It also came up as a new post on my phone. Now I not only ask myself questions, but I also answer myself. Where's the rubber wall room? I need it. :o

    Allstate Gear? for ax5 parts

I used Southwest Gear in Texas. Good people, good prices, and good customer service. Most places I found were importers. Some imported all parts and some imported several parts.

What did you do to your Jeep today?

Removed broken rear track bar and called the gorilla who put the whammy on the nut and bolt terrible names.

    Computer bypass 2100 changeout

Check your local regulations. If they do inspections, you may not pass. Here in Arkansas, if it runs it gets to go on the road. If it doesn't run we put it on blocks in the front yard. No inspections needed.

    AX5-AX15 transmission-differance

I may be wrong, but I think the ax5 came out in 87. If it's a cast iron case it will probably be a t5. If it's aluminum and splits down the middle length wise, it's a b/a 5/10.

    5th gear

Hey Bounty, not meaning to hijack the thread. I'm just curious what the synchros have to do with the fifth gear snap ring. I'm not questioning your answer, just curious as to the reasoning. I'm by no means an expert mechanic and always want to learn more.

Man I hate to tell you, but you have some kind of big bird problem there. There's white crap all over your ride. Welcome.

Educate me on an Aussie locker.

After a less than ideal experience in the woods last week, I think I need to invest in a minor upgrade for my Jeep. I'm looking at a locker for the front axle, but I like to know how things work before I put them on. Taking an Aussie locker for an example, how do they work? In 2wd, is it totally...

Stuff you've carried in your Jeep that made people look twice

24 foot extension ladder. Guy I bought it from about dropped it when I told him just to put it in the back. It ended up on windshield and roll bar.

    Parking light/turn signal socket

Thanks. I guess I just had bad luck searching. I tried for 2 days without coming up with a good part number anywhere.

    Parking light/turn signal socket

This one has a blade type bulb, 3157. It got old and brittle. One of the contacts broke off. The main thing is if it will fit the lens.

    Parking light/turn signal socket

Does anyone have a good part number for the light socket for the front turn signal/parking lamp? I'm not having much luck yet and really don't want to go to the local dealer. I have to go through their books to show them what I want if I buy from them. No Jeep people there.

    Allstate Gear? for ax5 parts

Answered my own question. They are an importer for a Chinese company--Ningbo Haitian Imp. Exp. Inc.

    Allstate Gear? for ax5 parts

Has anyone dealt with Allstate Gear? Looks like they deal a lot on ebay. My AX5 synchros are going out and I have another one I'm getting ready to rebuild to put in it. After taking it apart, I found the input shaft gear has several partly broken teeth. They have the input shaft, but it runs...

Hydrolic clutch cable disconnect from Trans

On the 92, that is probably an internal slave cylinder. I am assuming it is also a hard line going into the bell housing. The jam nuts you are seeing are where you separate the lines. You loosen those off completely and the lines come apart. Fluid will run out when you do so. Do those jam nuts...

    Oil pressure sending unit

95 YJ with 2.5 liter. When I bought the jeep a few weeks ago, I noticed that the gauge wasn't working. I just haven't bought a new sending unit yet. Today I noticed drops of oil when I pulled into the garage and a puddle under the jeep after sitting a few hours. Looks like oil is running down...

motorcraft 2150 on cj 4.2 which jets?

I wasn't running an HEI on my 87 4.2, but my jets were only 46 or 47.

    Gone, but not for long

I sold my 87 YJ nearly a year ago and thought that was it. I'm back with a 95 4 cylinder again. Probably a whole new set of problems to deal with too. Oh well, I missed my Jeep.8)
