A lot of good soultions here. Make sure the slides were greased up, make sure no air got into the system (bleed then really good). If you are still having problems, ask about the priority valve. These brake systems seem pretty simple, so you are close to curing the problem.

Not at all, just find (or have your mechanic find) the ground problem. Usually a loose wire or a bad ground. :-)

Sounds like a ground problem. My dash squeeks, which seems pretty small compared to your dash having electrical issues, none the less, this squeek is killing me!
