    Real Recovery Points Question?

1052844 Try going to rockcrawler.com. Go to the tech section, and look at cheap tricks. There is a way for it to be done on the frame of the TJ. Something similar may be what your going for. There's a pic too. I'm not sure of the differences between the TJ and YJ frames back there, but it...

    Need HELP!!!

1052854 clogged/bad fuel injector? Too much or too little gas (sticks open or closed) means it won't ignite (misfire). Platinum plugs? I've heard they don't do well in jeeps for some reason. Cooper. [addsig]

    It just????disappeares????

1053000 if you end up having to replace the radiator, go to radiators.com. They have good service and next day shipping. My TJ hasn't spit radiator fluid on my windshield since. Definitely replace hoses, thermostat, and clamps (if their the cheap ones) if you have to drop in a new radiator...

removed stock restrictor cone in air box

1050391 Got the cone filter, when I did this, it made it even better (97 TJ 2.5L). On the highway, I usually had to drop to fourth going over the mountains (Pittsburgh to Baltimore). After I pulled the tube from the airbox, I was able to stay in fifth the whole way. Definitely gives it a...

    Block heater?

1050545 neat, what'll they think of next... When I was in college, we would go on a winter trip up north (Huntsville, Ontario) to live in a cabin for 8-10 days. We were about ten miles from the nearest paved road (a good 50 miles from Huntsville), and we had to snowshoe our gear in a mile...

    Throtle position sensor trouble

1050838 try to clean it first. I've had to do that once already on my 97 TJ. I forget what fluid I used, but it's just an aerosol cleaner. Cooper.[addsig]

    Manual Transmission Fluid

1050978 Check out this site: http://www.redlineoil.com/dealers.htm I found a dealer within three miles of me. Little Harley shop. Kinda funny, really, I just changed the fluid to MT-90 yesterday... Took 3.5 quarts. Kinda expensive, but it fixed the problem. Maybe this'll let you...

    80w-90 gl5

1053467 I'm not familiar with that transmission, however I have heard that GL5 rated oils have sulfides in them which are not good if that transmission has brass synchros. Cooper.[addsig]

1053468 That's what I was going to say... My 97 sprung a leak 2-3 months back. I ordered from them. It was there the next day. All metal core. good stuff. Haven't checked the radiatorbarn. Compare the total price of each and let us know. Cooper. [addsig]

Yet another milestone... Got the CD player workin!!

1053617 If you have the cash, go for a CD changer. When mine was working (it died after 2 1/2 years exposed to the salt air in the gulf) almost nothing made it skip. Much better than the in-dash... Get a small one and mount it underneath the rear seat facing the front. It's out of sight and...

    Forgive my nieve-ness...

1053618 I do the same as hi_c. With the TJ's I remove the black frame around the doors also. And the doors. Don't like doors. Speaking of all this reminded me, does any one know of a bikini top for the TJ that works without the stupid, fscking black frame/rails? How hard would it be to...

    how hard

1053619 It would require some welding, but it could be done. You'd probably have to remove the gas tank while you did it. It's only plastic on top and would melt real quick once you cut through the bed. Remounting the seatbelts to the forward poles on the roll cage would be straightforward...

    how hard

1053637 Take the top off. Make em climb in... It would probably be easier to extend the lever for throwing the passenger seat forward. Cooper.[addsig]

    Forgive my nieve-ness...

1053660 I went topless and doorless for two an a half years. It only rained three times a year there. Even then, it wasn't much. Also was topless in Cali for a while during some rain. The only problems I ever had was my turn signal acted up once (clicked really fast and wouldn't light)...

Drivetrain Fluid Question, Tug is Lazy please help!

1053661 Would it also work to remove the cover? It seems like that would be easier, it would also allow you to scrape out the sludge and replace the gasket while your doing it. I've never done it myself, so there is probably something I'm missing. Cooper.[addsig]

    new body paint job.......help

1053791 When I was in the Gulf, I had my Jeep repainted while I went to Australia on leave (and I got out why?). A couple of Indian guys I knew (like from India, not America) had a body shop south of where I lived in Bahrain. Being a third world country things were cheap, but good quality...
