    Throw out Bearing

That transmission didn't use an actual throwout bearing. It's your hydraulic clutch slave cylinder.

Different Bell Housing Between AX-15 and BA10/5

As to your first question, if I remember correctly, you will need the bellhousing too.

    Pinion nut torque.

Thanks Bounty. Now I understand what they are talking about between torque and preload. I couldn't understand how you could torque something to 150 ft-lbs and maintain a setting of in-lbs on the bearing. It makes sense when it's clearly written out. I still have my doubts of reaching 150 ft-lbs...

    Pinion nut torque.

I think a mechanic will be doing this one. The flywheel at 120 lbs nearly killed me. I don't think I want to be trying for 150 while laying on my back under the jeep.

    Pinion nut torque.

I've found a problem with my rear pinion yoke. A new one is on the way along with a new seal. I've searched here and elsewhere and am getting a host of conflicting information. My Haynes book says to torque to 17 ft/lbs in the specs. Then, in the instructions, it says to check what the preload...

    2100 Carb Question

Go to the salvage yard, if you have one nearby, and look under some hoods. All of them I have looked at had an electric choke. Of course I know some didn't, but you can look and see what years and models you need. I found an electric choke on an early 80s model V8 pickup to replace my bad one...

    Vacuum gauge for carb tuning

I hooked mine below the carb on a "T" that also goes to the brake booster. Mine is right above where the AWOL EGR valve was.

    MC2100 jet question

Hey wm69, have you made any changes yet? I'm curious as to whether the recommendations made any difference. The kid moves into his place this weekend, so I hope to have my ride back together again next week.

    Clutch

I've had 2 people on another site say they've had bad experiences with Omix clutches. I'll look into the Luk brand. Centerforce is kind of high.

    Clutch

No offense taken. I figure it is something I either did or didn't do. I'm the one who put it in when I swapped the AX15 in for the Peugeot. I didn't get it resurfaced because I had done that about 4000 miles before that. The clutch had gotten oil soaked when my slave went out and like an idiot I...

    Clutch

Has anyone had any experiences with the Omix-Ada clutch disc and pressure plate? I'm dropping the transmission this week to see why it started slipping after just a few thousand miles and will probably have to replace it. It's a daily driver and not used for heavy off-road abuse, so I'm not...

What trans will fit 1995 YJ?

That and possibly the input shaft diameter where it goes into the pilot bushing might be a different size. I don't know if they changed that in 94 or in 97. If you have both out, compare the size of the input shaft tip. The two sizes are .59 inches on the older model and .75 inches on the newer...

    MC2100 jet question

I went back to 47s. It doesn't act as cold natured now. That was getting irritating. I put in a 6.5 PV at the same time. It had a 7.5. The only thing wrong now is that my clutch went out. Now I've got to wait until I have time to pull the transmission and fix or replace the clutch. Too many...

    Clutch question

I have an 87 4.2 that I've been running an AX15 with an external slave for a couple of years. There's only about 5000 miles on the clutch. I've noticed lately that I only have to barely push the pedal to engage the clutch. It wasn't that way to begin with. I know when the fluid is low or the...

    MC2100 jet question

I have a "Y" immediately under the carb that also runs to the front axle disconnect. It has a plug on one leg and I just plug it in there. All the ports on my carb are ported. I went to Oreilly's and ordered a 6.5 power valve today. Won't be here until Wednesday.

    MC2100 jet question

I finally filled up and although the rich smell is much less, the gas mileage is about the same. I was hoping for a little improvement. Oh well, it IS a brick on wheels. I'm going to play with the power valve next. Mine pulls a hair over 16 Hg at idle. That figures to a 6 Hg. They only make it...

    MC2100 jet question

Other than being somewhat cold natured in the morning, it's running great. There is still a little exhaust smell that may be because of the power valve. I didn't know how to check for what I needed. Now, it's going to be fun finding one too. I got my vacuum gauge/fuel pressure gauge from...

    MC2100 jet question

Swapped the jets for 46s last weekend. I drove it all week, which only amounted to about 80 miles. No difference that I could notice in power except that it is a little cold natured. I guess the larger jets pumped enough gas into the venturi that it overcame the choke. It runs fine once the...

    MC2100 jet question

I got them from swapsupply. But I ordered them via Ebay. He must have just passed away because mine were delivered the first of this month and, you're right, his account has nothing for sale at this time. You might search for part numbers. Mine were 120-4-046 and 120-4-047. They might have a dot...

    MC2100 jet question

Just got back from vacation trip, so I should be driving it all this week. I've put in the 46 jets and will fill up and see what happens this week.
