caster probs from 1" shackle lift?

RE: Pics? one of these days i want to go all HD heims if thats possible on a on/off road vehicle. I imagine the balljoints and bushings are in the average condition of a 17 year old jeep. They are from a late 80s grand waggy. I need a bracket for the axle end of the dampner to attach it. I...

caster probs from 1" shackle lift?

Is it possible that my crazy, uncontrollable jeep was born out of the 1" shackle lift I added? I was reading a post from a while back and Snitty mentioned that -that can happen, and a remedy is to either remove the shackle lift, or correct the caster with some 1 - 2 degree shims. never...

    What lift should I do?

RE: Jeep Interior lining. Looking for a decent product? SOA, I have a 4" rubicon lift, its nice, but you dont get the ride or articulation that an SOA will give. Plus the SOA is prob cheaper, even though it will take more planning and fabrication on your part. Not a slap on like the lift kits...

    Shock Absorber preferences

No Mud in Virginia I have a set of DT3000s and I dont know if I like them. Stiff. They have about 1500 miles on them, so I cannot form a solid opinion yet, but they do seem a bit tight. For example on the old twisty roads around here in NH they seem to bind, then give, forcing a drastic shift...

What about weber fuel injection and ignition? The induction AND ignition is fully programmable with a windows 98 interface. Howell and Mopar dont have this advantage. http://www.redlineweber.com/html/Fuel_Injection/Clifford/Clifford.htm

    sloppy steering, need advice

the axle is from a Grand Waggy. I kept the caster the same., the shackles are 1" lifted from Rubicon Express. Yes the jeep feels like its swerving from over correction. No vibes. Not sure about the axle moving under the jeep, wouldnt know what that feels like. The steering box and shaft were...

    Weber choke

Go to the link at the bottom of this post. it will aid you in solving your weber issues. Im not sure if it shows the fast idle screw, but its up high, on the motor side of the carb. I believe its a simple spring loaded screw in-out screw. Dont touch the jets. They are brass and go IN to the...

    Replacement Frame

that first ones is at Quadrtec, yea I agree, get a stock junked frame, refinish it. All the common holes are there and its easier to work with. youll spend a third of $$ on the stock one.. Just make sure the junked one is straight and rust-free!!

    Weber choke

the power to your weber is spliced into the positive coil line, or the yello (yj) from the ignition switch to the ignition box on the fender. Rather thsn guess which yellow or worry about splicing the wrong one, you can easily just use the positive line to the coil - thats what I have, it works...
