    Front axle u-joint

She is a fixed guys. Thanks for all the info. Had to take the axle to a shop to get the old u-joint out did the rest myself. I could not get the joint to come out no matter how I tried. I even tried by putting a soket around the pushed out side and one on the top with a 2 ton jack under the...

    Front axle u-joint

I have a 97 tj with the u-joint style front axles. Passenger side is starting to be lose and I think I might get a thousand k's out of her before she is gone.:( Can you press out the old u-joint and put in a new one or do you have to buy the whole axle assembly as I have seen? It is a spicer...

    engine reving on it's own.

Like the other guys said...look for leaks on the intake manifold. If there is no leaks then I would look for codes in the computer as the next item that could cause this is the idle air adjuster that is controlled by the computer. If the adjuster is failed in the open position it would cause...

Anyone know of some cheap shocks?

I have to replace them on my Jeep too. I was going to go with Zone Nitro shocks as they are made for your vehicle as well as not to bad of a price (40 buck a shock). They are 10 stage valved as well as 150 psi nitro with a 5/8" rod shaft.

    PCM help

Have you checked possible sensors after the PCM. Maybe one of them is causing the computer to signal the Automatic Shutdown Relay to turn off the jeep. This is only a suggestion before the PCM change out. I had trouble with mine a couple weeks ago where the main fuse for the PCM kept blowing...

    1998 tj wont start.

Well I found my problem, It actually warmed up enough the last couple days to be able to work on the Jeep. After finding that the problem was either on the A or C connectors at PCM, I took off all sensors associated with those connectors. The last item I removed was the Oxygen sensor at the...

I don't think the shocks are shot but I will look at them again. I will replace the steering stabilizer and see if that helps.

    1998 tj wont start.

Well have found that the problem is after the PCM on the third connector from the passenger side of the vehicle or the connector next to the engine on the PCM. Is there any drawings around that are better then chiltons for electrical stuff? Sure don't want tohave to disconnect everything under...

    TJ Wrangler Jittery

It will do what your saying as well as will feel like it rolls down off of the top of semi depressions. Feels unnerving when it shifts slightly like that. handles good. Alignment must be close as you can take your hand off of the wheel for a quite a few seconds and it don't wander.

    1998 tj wont start.

I have replaced the fuse 2 times. I looked at the asd relay (opened it and checked to see if it grounded or was burnt at points but looked good.) What is down stream other then PCM and coil? Chiltons wiring diagrams are pretty sucky... only things I see on them is the asd, pcm and that the pcm...

    Exhaust

I have put on a Pacesetter header, a Flowmaster high flow catalitic converter and a MBRP Cat back system. You might have to buy a small peice of exhaust pipe between the cat and exhaust as the after market high flow I bought was shorter then stock. Also I had to cut the oxygen sensor holder from...

    Causes of Ignition Coil failure??

Coils are a bunch of wire wound around a bunch of plates. The wires have a thin insulation on them as well as the plates have thin insulation separating them. Your trigger/input voltage (12- 14V) goes in on the wires. The output voltage is generated in the plates and goes out on your ignition...

    Oil pressure?

Jesse, I am running a 2.5 in my 97 TJ. Had a simular issue with oil pressure all last summer. The gauge would be good initially but drop after engine was warm. I changed the pressure sending unit, but no change. I was frustrated to the point that I even installed a mechanical pressure gauge to...

    TJ Wrangler Jittery

Hi, I find my 97 tj a little jittery on the street. It is influenced by slight dips in road like ripples caused by semi's. Seems like it is loose. I had a YJ before and had no looseness. I have looked at the joints and connectors but don't seem to have any play. Is this normal for the TJ's or is...
