Hi eveyrone im new to this forum but figured it might be helpful i am planning on rebuilding my 4.0 out of a 95 zj i have im running a 2 inch budget boost on 31x10.5 bfg mud terrains the motor has had a bad knock and it only gotten worse last itme i changed the oil it had metal flakes in it the thing also leaks oil eveyrwhere so my goal is to basically do some small performance upgrades to the engine such as thorrtle spacer new cam and such but nothing to drastic as far as lifiting it goes i think it wil lhave to stay at 2 inch for a while but im looking ot remove the fornt adn rear bumber covers possibly for a bull bar or similar up fornt and just a rock krawler bumber on rear. if any one ha sany usefull info to help me out please let me know. thank you much

Welcome to Jeepz. IMO You're throwing money away by putting in a cam, I'd save it for the new engine. With the amount of metal floating around you'd never be able to reuse the cam for fear of damaged bearing journals.

i forget to note that i also planned on removing and rebuilding that engine prior to these up grades my fault. i intend on purchasing a new cam, new bearings cam & main hoping the crank doesnt need machined but if it does oo well i can get it done. also purchasing a full gasket set fel- pro from summit.
