yj wont stay running when put in gear

i have a 88 yj with 258 i just put the carb (weber 32/36) back on with new adapter plates. now it cranks fine and idles fine but as soon as i put it in gear (tf 999 auto) it starts running bad and dies before i can even move. after i let it warm up for 20 min or so and try a few times it eventually starts and does fine. any ideas?

Sound slike your choke isn't properly adjusted. Turn it alittle more towards closed, just a little at a time, and try it.

Doesn't sound *quite* like the problem I had, but I'd check the fuel pump and/or filter, see that you're getting enough fuel through?

I'm no expert, just guessing from my experiences.
