hey guys,
Do any of you know how a 4.0L stroked to a 4.5L would sound with duel exhaust header gutted cats and flowmasters? I would want to have the exhaust exit in front of the rear tires, dont' worry clearance is not a problem! Also if you have had any expoereince with picking perfomance exhaust let me know what you picked and how it worked out for you?
Thanks

Yes, stroked with a header would be the way to go, cheaper and a lot less headache than a v8 conversion.

For the Flowmaster, you can run a single muffler with 2in 2out, or 1in 2out if you want dual exhaust. I run the 50 DeltaFlow, but you may want to check the Flowmaster 40 for that engine setup.

Electric Guage red lining (89 Grand Wagoneer).....

go with a 30 or 40 series Flowmaster, only go with a Delta if you want a less noisey exaust, pesonally i like it louder....i had a friend with an old F-150 that had a gutted cat and a 40 Flowmaster on it and it sounded nice, 30 will be louder than a 40 but it all depends on what you want and like

have you ever heard a 4.0 with dual/gutted/flowmaster?... it would probably sound very similar... everything would be the same, just more space, more combusion, and more exhaust... so, basically like a 4.0 through a flowmaster, but lots louder, and lots badasser

Can I swap to 4.0 engine?

HI, i recommend either a Mellow Tone muffler or a flowmaster, they both sound bad ass! Also, everybody needs to remove cat converters, nice sound. Screw you tree huggers!

aw come on now... environmentalists rule

blah

I love the flowmaster and on any engin that I have herd one on it sounded better than the norm. CAts are not anything but a restrictor and I for one hate em. The dual exaust seems a bit over kill in my book some times less is more. Just seems it may be more money more to break off on a rock or hump and more problems down the road. As for the short turned out in front of the wheel thing I am not a fan there either I like the single pipe up out of the way from draging coming out in the rear. The dual side pipe thing may give you a cool factor no doubt but function function function rules in a Jeep in my book. As the man once said chrome will not get you home! So that would be my 2 cents on this matter! tug
