Where is the second restrictor. i took the one off of the top of the box that lead to the pipe to the tb. i also have the tornado fuel saver in there. where is the second one? help

If I were you, I'd toss that Tornado Fuel Saver in the trash. From my research, they tend to not help, and even seem to decrease airflow. Anything you put in the intake that the air has to run through or across only acts to decrease airflow, thus decreasing mileage and HP.

guess that dictator/sit com character

the question was really geared toward the second restrictor. the tornado actually twirls the air, which allows the air to go through the turns easy. In return this allow the air to go faster. do a little research on them and you will be surprised. you may even buy one yourself.

You say tornaydo I say tornahdo...

I dunno where the second restrictor is. I asked twice on here and never got a straight answer. Looked on the 'net and found nothing. If it exists I don't know, but I sure wish someone would clarify it.

A pic would be GRRRRReat!

Ah, I see you didn't fully read my post. I DID do the research, and what I posted is what I discovered. Before it twirls the air, it restricts it you see, because there is nothing already turning the blades. The incoming air turns the blades on the little propellor inside, thus slowing the incoming air before it begins twirling it. As for it actually twirling it, that is debated as well....at least, giving it enough twirl to actually do anything beneficial.

As for the second restrictor (sorry to derail the thread), I don't know where it is, and can't find any reference to it, either.

Dave, also another cheap way to make some more power would be to remove the potion of air duct that is flexible and replce with some scd 80 pvc piping.

Is this the other "restrictor" you were talking about? It's not really a restrictor in the plain sense of the word, but it does definitely restrict airflow...and as was mentioned earlier, anything that helps get more air flowing more freely to the TB is always a good thing, right?

That stuff is pretty easy to tear through as well. I got a big rip in the back of mine, but luckily noticed it before hitting any mud  .

That was the time that I actually like having soooooo much blow-by...I saw the oil pouring out of the tear

as for the tornado... spinning the air is not going to make it go faster... the air is only going to go as fast as the cylinders will draw it in... if the air is "organized", then yes, it CAN help atomize the air/fuel mixture... but.... get this... air goes through the tornado.. gets "organized"... hits the throttle body, deflects off the butterfly valve, reaches the bottom of the intake under the TB, turns 90 degrees... moves out to any of the 4/6 intake runners.... turns through them... enters the head... turns 90 degrees downward... hits the valve and turns nearly 90 degrees again to reach around it.... by the time that air hits the throttle valve.... that swirl effect is long gone

the swirl may be long gone but i dont think the dyno lies.

a dyno doesn't lie.. but the marketing department does lie about dyno numbers... you're not gonna get more than 3 to 5 hp from ANY modification to a stock intake system.. even a k&n

i only paid like $40 for mine new. i have noticed a change in mileage and have had it for about a year and a half. i would say it has paid for itself and then saved me some more money. really that is all that matters to me.

Well, Sparky, with a name like "Tornado", I thought sure you'd have one in your YJ!

 Believe me, I was gonna get one till I did the research on it!! Knock on wood, the YJ hasn't run into a serious tornado yet. Now, the old Toyota, well, that's another story!!
