Thanks again for all of the wonderful - detailed - tire info.

My conclusion is that the 235's would work - just don't turn too sharp and don't overload the XJ

One more question to add to this topic - what is a good tire warranty to look for when purchasing new tires these days?

schwabs has a very thorough warranty. im not sure of all of the benefits, but i would just call them and ask them. i think they have a mileage warranty, free rotation, and some other goodies.
