XJ rear bumper

So I have an skidrow XJ gas tank skid and I was all ready to put it in when I started to remove the rear bumper to slide in the nut plates and got noplace. Can anyone tell me how to remove this thing without having to contort myself into little spaces to get at the bolts? I mean it looks almost impossable.

good luck... if yours is mounted the same way mine is (97 XJ), its a real pain. you will definitely be contorting yourself into weird spaces. it should be a total of 4 bolts, but you have to reach up inside the bumper to get to them and take off the side plastic moldings. have fun

Yep thats just it they want ot see how many wierd positions they can get you into, HAHA. But really they r pretty hard to do on your own, I put the rear tire swing out bumper on a 94 XJ, and it was quite hard solo. Good luck though,. JOE>
