Will this bad boy fit? 39.5 Bogger

Instead of the 38.5 x 15 I might go with a 39.5 x 18 if it fits and I can find a few more pennies.

I will have 3 inch springs, spring over, and 3" body.
Will it fit?

How Much Is My Jeep Worth?

They will fit..that is the set-up i have and i have more than enough room to flex  .....except i 39.5 TSL's....couldnt afford boggers :x

RE: Re: RE: my 8.8

Yeah? That's great. I am trying to scrap a few more pennies together for the 39's. I am at least getting $950 for the Boggers I have now.

Yeah man, 39" Boggers will fit with that setup, and there are several companies that make new axle shafts and gear sets for that D44. If you're going to lock it, I'd plan on investing in a couple of spare sets for when that built engine, 3.06 first gear, and 2.6x low range get through with them......but you probably aren't interested in hearing that.....

Gotta question about rims. That tire requires a 16.5 x 12 rim. Interco says that, but NTW and Sams offroad say that they put those tires on 16.5 x 9.75 rims? Is that right? I didn't think that would fit on there.

RE: Wheel Fit ?

you can fit those tires on a 10 inch rim no problem...you run a greater risk of blowing a tire off the rim but that isnt a big concern and has only happened to me once.

RE: Regarding the Site...

go w/ at least a 12, interco makes them, ntw only sells them

What is this crap that people put that tire on a 9.75" rim? That seems a little crazy huh?

I bet you guys wish ya'll lived near Interco uh? I am buying the 39's through Sam's Offroad who is already cheap. Then I get to pick the tires up at Interco for no shipping costs. Actually a friend of mine is going to pick them up. He goes to school 10 miles away from the factory and comes back home every weekend. I am geting those tires for $1327.

RE: Tugs New Ride!

Trust me, I won't be doing much of any driving on the street.

I am going to go until my buddy cops pull me over and then trailer it fromt here.

Just reading the posts so far, and have some input. I have a 86 CJ-7 with 3 inch Alcon springs and SOA set-up. No body lift (bad idea for a Jeep). No shackle lift, (bump steer sucks with them). 14 bolt rear and 44 front. I have 39.5x16.5 IROKs on 16.5 x 9.75 chrome mod rims and they fit well and no problem with flex. I also still have full fenders and flares and drive it daily to work and home. Feel free to drop an email if you want to ask anything at all.

Just like a 44", the 39" Bogger has a 15" tread width. A 12" wide wheel is as narrow as you want to go, no question about it. A Bogger does best with it's tread laying as flat as possible. A 44" wears alot better on a 15" wide rim and it's more stable too. With the shorter 39" the 12" wheel would be okay, but I'd still look for some 14" wide wheels. I wouldn't even consider a 9.75" wheel. People do all sorts of things, it doesn't make it right. Interco makes the tire, listen to them. For best results with a big mud tire, try to match the tread width with the rim width.

It's kind of like running a 12.5" wide tire on an 8" wheel. It works fine for a short little 33" tire, and because of that people have somehow come to the conclusion that running an 8" wide wheel is the way to go with any 12.5" tire. That's obviously a bunch of crap. Would you run a bias ply 38x12.5" TSL on an 8" wide wheel? Neither would I, and neither would any of the tire manufacturers......check their websites. Last time I looked NO manufacturer recommends an 8" wheel with a 35" and up tire, they all recommend at least an 8.5" wheel for the MINIMUM. True, that's not far from an 8" wheel......but it's still not an 8" wheel. When the manufacturers measure and spec their 12.5" tires, they are measuring them while mounted on a 10" wheel.....that should tell you something.

The inner bead that jps4jeep was talking about is called a safety bead. It's a little bulge or lip that keeps the tire from sliding inwards on the rim and coming unseated. Most 16.5" rims don't have it, and because of that the tires are more likely to pop off with hard use or severe side loading.

I really have no options other than a 16.5 rim. I cannot fit a 15" diameter rim.

So what I am looking for is a 16.5 x 12 rim....

i was only referring to the width of the rim..yes i am running a 15x10 rim on a 15 inch wide tire. i would stay away from the 16.5 but if thats what it takes to fit over those huge 14 bolt drums than i guess you dont have much of a choice!
