check with a auto store and see if the long or short blocks are the same, from there be ready to replace all your exhaust and carb parts etc... from the old engine. :cookout:

I dont know but an auto store will., just ask them or call them for a price on a long or short block,then ask them if it will fit 1999 wrangler and or cherokee.

The 1986 2.5 is carburated...the "99 Cherokee is fuel injected...not a good swap. I believe the 1999 Wrangler 2.5 is the same engine as the 1999 Cherokee 2.5.

My older brother put a 350 chevy in a 1958 willis or maybe it was a 1960 ? O ya plus a tilt steering wheel, I didnt watch or help him "but anything is possible" good point about the carburated engine, I hope the OP still has the engine from the cherokee to get parts off of.

The accessories are in different locations but the block and head will interchange.
