My guess is also a Dana 35. As for is it worth swapping in, I see your intrests in it but you're already running 35" Terra Graplers? (1) 4.10 gears are probably too tall for your 35" Terra Grapplers. I have 35's and run 4.88 gears while a lot of guys even run 5.13's. (2) With the tires you have and the gearing you'll need to run, Dana 35 are notorious for self-destruction. It wouldn't really be a question of if it's going to happen, just when.

Aside from all of that is the width correct? How about spring and shock mounts and other attachments? How about just hooking the disc brakes up into the existing system? I've never swapped an axle before but I'd think there's a whole list of stuff to be considered in determining if it's worth it.

Jeep Axle: Dana 35c

Ive put the d35 thats under mine under extreme torture and its stood up, you have to keep in mind that i would be upgrading from 3.07 to 4.10, which is going to save me money because the 3.07 carrier can not hold a 4.88 (which is what i want) but the 4.10 carrier can. the swap would take at least an hour, the GC is coil sprigs so is mine, Its basically the same axle but with disc brakes and 4.10 gears. as for the front im just gonna change out the gears.

I've been told that the Grand Cherokee's bracket locations on the rear axle are different than the TJ, you would have to take measurements. I would only do it if it's a direct bolt-in swap.

Otherwise you could swap the gearset and disc brakes over to your current d35.

Agreed, the GC brackets are slightly different. It'd be a lot less headache to swap the carrier/gears and pull the brakes.....just my $0.02

The grand has an upper control "triangle" in the center of the axle housing instead of upper control arms... The E brake on my Mom's grand (which uses cute little shoes on the inside of the disk) has been something of a headache and does NOT work as well as the drum rear in my Wrangler. -John

The WJ has the "triangle", that axle is from a ZJ, which is different from a TJ axle anyhow. I recently changed over to ZJ disk brakes in my TJ, I still haven't messed with hooking up the parking or E brake but as far as the disks go it is deffinitely a worthwhile upgrade. I was very impressed with the noticeable difference. The first few times I stopped I ended up stopping way short because the brakes worked so much better.
