Phaty, I have been tossing round the K&N filter idea. I hear that the improvements you see from it are at peak when rpms are around like five but you hardly ever take a jeep that high? Is that true for you? I wouldnt want to do it if it was for speed only but I had heard alot about it.

What was your original reason for putting it in? Thanks for repsonding.

Lady, I know you directed this question to Phatyaspen, but...

You can increase your intake airflow really cheaply by doing these two things (first mod is free):
1.) remove the factory airflow restrictor. Mine is different on a YJ, so I will let someone else explain how-to on your TJ (maybe ask in technical forum?)
2.) get a K&N factory replacement filter that works in your existing box instead of buying the "cone" filter setup.
I don't really speed much, but was looking to get a little more power for going up hills and such! I did these two things on my 4cyl and noticed a difference.

Thanks and don't besurprised when one day I show ready to go! You are all ways welcome here any time as well. I love to show off these old Tennessee Woods to everyone! tug

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh Very Interesting Copper! I do appreciate you stepping in and that is some great information! Thanks, I'll chew on that for a bit.

Lady

K&N or other wise restriction free filter will let the horse power inside come to life. Let the thing breath. The best way to discribe it is to run around the block, timed and remember how you feel. next day start fresh and run around the same block only this time wear a gas mask! Get my point. Letting the air in and out are as equal so open up the exaust as much as posible as well. breath in breath out. tug
