What's That Wet Stuff?

There's been something falling out of the sky all night...it's all wet and cold. Since May, we've had about 2" of rain here on the prairie...last night made up for it in a bad way. We've gotten 3.23" of rain in the last 3 hours. Now, if you'd spread that out over a few weeks, a little at a time, that would be fine. But when it comes in buckets like that, most of it runs off and doesn't really do us much good. However, it should be enough for some good wheelin' out at the lake today!!:D

here has had its days april through june was really wet seemed like everytime i had a chance to work on something or go somewhere it was like pouring **** from a boot .. does make for some nice mud slinging though hehe

yeah it's been dry as a popcorn fart here too. We got a nasty set of thunder boomers last night though. Lots of rain, lost power for 6 hours. Have the day off tomorrow, might take my son to one of our local spots to find some mud.

Sparky, I hope to see some pics of that newly lifted YJ with some serious mud on it

Sorry, TC. Sunshine actually agreed to go with me on the condition that I didn't get her muddy. All I've got on the Jeep is the bikini top, and it would have rained mud had she not been there! I did still manage to "accidentally" hit a mud hole on her side of the Jeep, though, so she got a "freckled" arm!:p

Man, the mud I coulda busted, too. They obviously didn't get near as much rain out at the lake as we did here. We ended up with 4.95" by the time it was all said and done. Looked like maybe an inch to inch and a half out there. One thing about the redjaw clay, it gets muddier than all get out, but also dries up pretty fast. An hour or two and most places are already starting to dry.

I wanna go mudding! Anyone care to drive me? I hate not being able to drive. Talk about a huge loss of independance. Let me tell ya, my wife can't wait either. My mud intake is a little low, may have to throw a shovel of it on me to feel better.

I know the feeling. It started raining here the other day and I got my 3 year old out of bed, because she never seen rain before..:purple:

Heh heh heh... Of course, Michigan weather is totally unpredictable... It was HOT, then it cooled down, but for the last week, all the rain that was supposed to hit us blew over... Really odd, I mean like a wall of rain coming down the state, and for some reason, it split north and south soon as it hit Oakland county... To keep the lawn nice and lush (it's my other baby besides the Jeep), we've been watering nice and late, but someone has to stay up and turn off the stupid sprinkler... So I get this nice fancy timer doodad that goes on the hose and does the work for us...

The day I get it, it is misting all day... The next day, heavy fog and mist all day... Then downpours, and for the last 3 days, a solid constant rain... My lawn is like oatmeal under the grass!

But, after all, I saw that coming as soon as I hooked it all up! Figures...

Sparky, you guys should be getting the cool front that we are expecting this weekend.
It was already 64 here this morning.. man that feels better.

We just got a little here as well. Not enough to do much, but it's a start. It'll get the ground to start loosening up and soon it'll be time to play. Now we want the rain, and soon we'll be hoping for the sun. What a world we live in.

It's been GREAT today! High was 68, low was 61. Currently, it's 61. Man, I love this weather, but I got a feeling we'll see a few more 90's before fall kicks in, so I'm eating it up while it's here!

Yesterday here, it was cold and rainy in Denver. What the heck, we decided to head for the high country. As soon as we passed Grant, Colorado the clouds dissipated and the sun came out. We drove Redcone pass, radical hill, middle fork of the swan, georgia pass and did some back country exploring by Jefferson, Colorado all in bright, warm sunshine. It was great.
From the high mountain peaks, you could see the cloud layer socked in over the front range cities.
When we headed back down, the weather got cold again.
It made for a wonderful and surprising day.
