What Size Amp For Subs??

i was looking at 2 6" subs 150RMS/300watts 4 ohm.. what size of amp would i need to run this to make it sound ok. i know nothing about any of it. someone told me i would need a 200watt amp 2 channel?? but i am not sure how it would work. can anyone point me in the right direction thanks.

You need to compare the RMS ratings not the MAX ratings of both the speakers and the amp. You can also use a mono or a two channel amp depending on how you wire it. And pay attention to the ohm ratings it DOES make a difference.

so what your saying is that the speakers i am looking at are 150watts rms so i would need a 4 ohm 2 channel amp that puts out 150watts to each channel?? what about if i wanted to add some 6x9's as well..can i hook them up to a amp or just run them from the deck..
 
Yes matching up the RMS is a good start. There are lots of opinions out there but generally it is better to over power your speakers just slightly.

Your deck should power the 6x9's ok but if your buying high dollar ones you might want to put them on a amp as well.
