I can't even look at the photo of jeep honcho without thinking of the '78 jeep Cherokee I let go , reluctantly . Even though the '78 chevy blazer Cheyenne I once owned was an awesome truck , the Cherokee was my favorite . But it was only a substitute for the jeep I dreamed to own ( of which i now do ) , the jeep that started it all , the CJ5. Every once in a while I will see this scrambler running around on the streets not far from my home and have seen J10's with roll bars in the bed but will never forget what it felt like when I was told I couldn't buy the '66 cj5 I got started In the junkyard I once worked in . I was crushed . That was my dream jeep. I guess that's why I'm currently working on trying to get my hands on another cj5. Or maybe it's because my dad has taken a shine to my recently acquired '80 cj5 and I want a second one if he decides to "keep" it on me. It could happen , I do have to title it to him when it's finished since the classic insurance requires it be garage kept. I don't have a garage. At least I'll have a second cj5 ( I hope ) to sport around. He keeps asking " when are you going to insure it so I can drive it around ? " . Get the hint ? Hey , he's 78 . Let him get his jollies out of it. We know the feeling. He wishes he could have bought one that needed repairs once was I was a kid. Now he can drive one whenever he pleases. It's a beautiful thing. I guess to me and my dad , the CJ5 is the holy grail.
