I just ordered a weber carb to replace my crapper bbd. I did not get it yet . I want to know if anyone did this is it easy and do all the vacuum hoses get used that are connected to the old carb and air filter housing? And what about the 2 pulse air tubes that that are good for shooting crap in the air filter where do they go?

I also have an 89 with the 258 and plan on converting over to the weber in the near future. Currently, one of my air tubes (the one to the cat) had a rusted hole and a rusted check valve. Instead of replacing it I just capped off both vacuum lines leading out from the solenoids to remove the tubes from the system. I haven't noticed any change since then. I then removed the rusted tube & check valve and taped over the hole in the air cleaner. Almost forgot - you will have to either get a new cat or cap off the air line to if you do this. I am hoping that this will make it easier for the weber conversion. Good luck!
