I noticed an oil, looks like oil anyway, leak dropping down from it appears the bottom of the webber carb onto the manifold. I have a hose coming out of the valve cover going to the carb and wonder if it is hooked up wrong. Does anyone have pics of how the vacum hoses are hooked up on a 258 with webber carb?

If it's hooked up to the valve cover it should have a pcv valve on it to prevent the oil from entering the carb. That hose burns crankcase vapors, hence the Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV).
If you've got the pcv valve where the hose enters the valve cover, shake the pcv valve and listen for a rattle to make sure it's working okay.
