Warn Trans4mer grill guard

MC2100 coming in the mail

I tried looking up the installation instructions, so I could see how/if they have the pieces to strengthen, the stock bumper mounts. With no luck.
Adding factory tow hooks, like doubles the strength of the fasteners for the bumper, at least where the bumper attaches to the frame. Does this tell you anythig? And the OEM tow hooks, are considered marginal.
Something that just hooks to the stock bumper, I wouldn´t trust to pull or support much.
Kind of appears to be an expensive, cosmetic piece, which may be marginally helpfull, in protection from light brush.
Maybe a good place to hang driving lights.
One nice thing about that style of bumper/grill guard, is it makes a handy plce to tie a radiator deflector, when mudding, but most models of the same piece, bend pretty easy.

The Warn thing mounts where the stock tow hook brackets mount. I don't think I would mount a winch to it (it is an option  )

For the record folks, this is NOT what I was referring to
 nice piece...

This poor guys XJ has been posted before. I don't get what's wrong with that dudes bumper. It's not my style, but it looks to be a nicely built setup. It does look funny tilted forward though, and probably still gets in the way when working under the hood.

That Brush guard is absolutly neccessary! especially if you go head to head up against a Triceretops!
fair enough johnny, but try to name another situation where you'd need it!

Fending of stingers from stuck Jeeps with slippery pedals ?

Liberty wheels on a TJ?

Come on, none of you guys have ever slid into a tree? or crunched a fender/hood on one rock, because your all twisted up on the one right next to it? rolled over on the front corner while going down a ledge at an angle?

I can see lots of uses for a good set of hood bars if you like to carry a jungle gym around with you. Like I said.....not my style. I think the tubing is too big in diameter and the mounting system isn't what I would have done, but it seems to still be a quality fabbed part. That's what I do for a living, I can appreciate that part of it more than others I guess. I was basically just wondering what was wrong with it other than the design......I didn't think the purpose of it was being questioned :?
