Vibes at speed

RE: Ok, I

I've got a stock 00 XJ. I noticed today for the first time that I am getting vibrations through the steering wheel when I hit around 50 mph. The wheel was actually shaking quite a bit on the way to work, but not as bad on the way home. I have not done anything to it lately. The tires are about a year old. I haven't taking it wheeling to damage anything (its my DD). It has around 90k miles on it. I checked to see if the balancing weight fell of a tire and they hadn't.

What are the likely culprits?

Worn out front track bar is the most likely. Have somebody crank the steering to full-lock while you watch both ends of the track bar. Have them bounce the steering wheel back and forth againsy full-lock and you may see movement in either end of the track bar.

2nd most likely culprit would be worn bushings in the control arms on the front axle. Inspect with a flashlight and screwdriver.
