valve cover questions. . .

i just want to know if there is a difference between valve covers from a CJ 258 and an 89 yj 258. i have a new chrome air cleaner sittin pretty above my new 2150 carb, and it just makes the aluminum valve cover look shotty. I see chrome ones on ebay, but they say they are for CJs. What would happen if i put a cj cover on a yj 258?

The 258 valve cover on CJs from before 80 or 81 and earlier is different from after. I don't know if the "newer" CJs and YJ 258s are the same. The chrome ones I have seen on ebay are for these older CJ engines. Just check the year before you buy it.

After I ddi the 2150 change I felt the same way. Remove the old one wire brush the puppy sand if needed the paint it the color of choice. Looks good! Cost little. Tug :wink:

I agree with tug clean it up and paint it, while redoing the valvecover gasket on my friends YJ we got some green high temp engine paint and painted it up looks great and cost under 5 bucks can't beat that. Evan
