Unlimited gets large box truck unstuck from snow

I remember running my last half-marathon in Moab. It was a cool but sunny morning. I wear an FRS radio when I run. I was told that a rafting bus was stuck at the side of Highway 128. My support waited for me to catch up to the site. He asked me if he should use the Mighty YJ to pull the bus out. "No," I said. I agree with Clint Eastwood that a man should know his limitations. Just cause you can doesn't mean that you should!

I wish I had video of my F250 dragging a semi across our gravel parking lot. We were trying to pull an ISO container off the back of a tilt deck flatbed. The container didn't budge at first and my truck dragged the semi, trailer and container backwards about 10 feet before the container started to slide off. I could hardly believe it myself. The semi was in gear pulling the other way. My truck was in 4 low.

It looks like it was more "applying pressure" than actually pulling.

Yeah, but the non-believers inside didn't know that :?|. As far as they're concerned the Jeep is now the coolest tow truck around. :purple:

I was involved in a similar incident once when my friends truck got stuck in the sand at the beach. He was pulling a loaded (beer, gas, quads, food, beer) 29' fifth wheel and his front axle wouldn't engage. I pulled out the tow-strap and pulled him all the way into camp which was a good 100 yards through the soft sand. Granted I wasn't doing all the work, but it was still pretty good material for bragging rights. :bootyshake:

Our F250s at work won't even spin wheels when stuck in the sand in the sand. One of my guys got mine stuck on the beach and tried getting it out. He was mashing the gas, the tires weren't spinning, the transmission started puking fluid on the converter, fluid ignited, fire. We yanked it out with a trackloader and as soon as we got it up out of the sand the fire went out. I wish I had video of THAT.

I thought it was a cool vid... it was def. pulling it in the middle of the video there... maybe that V6 isn't is bad as people think!

Makes me wanna pull stuff with my jeep... all I pulled out so far is my dads BMW... hip hip horraaa!

It's not a question of power - the weight ratio is the problem. I've had times when I had plenty of traction and power, but just sat there diggin' holes trying to pull out some heavier rigs.

Like when you hook up your winch and have to tie off to something behind you to keep from dragging your Jeep to what you're trying to pull out.
