My friend has a 95 Toyota 2WD pickup....and i tell u it has been places you would never thought a 2wd could go....but almost everytime he puts it in gear(auto transmission) it make a poping noise....it started just in reverse but now it will do it in drive too...his dad thinks it might be the u-joint and i was just wondering if anyone had any idea of what it may be thanks.[addsig]

The sound sounds like it is comming from the rear....now today when i was riding in it when he would give it a lot of gas it sounded like there was something metal clanging around...but after a couple more taps it would stop and wouldn't do it for a long time[addsig]

the first thing i would do is change u-joints, and then go from there[addsig]

Sounds like a u-joint and hope it isn't a tooth in the in the R&P gear ...
