trany problems, and temp gage prob.

i have a 1995 jeep grand cherokee laredo strait 6. it is auto. i dont know what kind of trany it has but i DO NOT HAVE OVERDRIVE.it worked fine since i got it but like 3 weeks ago i went to a buddys house (everything worked fine there) and on the way home it just never shifted out of 3rd. and to this day it still dosent. i have no idea where to start i did push the o/d off button and it went off but when i pushed it again it came back on. but after i turned the ignision off hung out for a bit than went to go home i had no overdrive.


the other problem is it is like 10degrees out and i can go out and start it after is sitting outside all night and in 3 min of starting it i have hot heat. but my temp gage dont move. it stays under 100. as far as i know it dosent overheat i never smell it or hear it, or see any smoke so i am pretty sure it dont over heat.

It's possible that the overdrive solenoid has failed or a pressure sensor. Check your fluid level and condition. You can take your Jeep to a shop to get the transmission checked and tested for any DTC's that would give us a better direction on how to fix it. As for the Temp. gauge, look for the Coolant temp. sensor. It should be on the front of the valve cover area on the T.stat housing. If it's a 2 wire sensor, jump the 2 terminals with a small paperclip and see if the gauge moves up to the hot level(engine Off, Key on). If it's a 1 wire sensor, simply ground the wire to the body and check the gauge. If the gauge goes into the hot level when the cicuit is grounded, Replace the Coolant temp sensor. If it doesn't, check the connections and wiring harness..

well i tryed the sensor thing. i have 2 wired and jumped them with engine off and key on but the needle didnt move at all. all the wireing looked fine.

now on my way home my blower motor just stoped working. it was working fine than all of a suddon just stoped. blown fuse? idk havent checked anything yet. it is late and time for bed. let u know what i find in the morning.
