Yea.I've learned never let schmoes that say they know what there doing work on ur stuff.Ever since i let this moron put my clutch in things have been bad.But now my problem is that no matter what gear it grinds or vibrates or it seems like its in gear but its not so u look like a moron cause u missed a gear and the transmission always now does sumthing its not supposed to.My buddy says he thinks its shot as in all gears are gone and all.So what im looking for is a transmission for a 94 4cyl wrangler. Or if u guys thinks it fixable let me know.

Thanx

I know how you feel. My '94s auto transmission just gave out. I'm not sure exactly what's wrong either. When I put it in gear, it won't go. I'm taking it to the trans shop tomorrow to perform a diagnostic test on it. I wish I knew what to say to help you out, but just hang in there and hope!

Common with the AX5, sounds like the synchronizers are shot. It's common with the AX5 and AX15 because Chysler incorrectly recommended GL5 gear oil for these trannies. GL5 has a very high sulfer content which is very corrosive to the soft brass synchronizers in these Aisin-Warner trannies.

Pick up a used transmission and use the right gear oil from the start. Penzoil Synchromesh is good, but Redline MT90 is the best. The Redline shifts like warm butter on the coldest of days, as it's a synthetic. The Synchromesh is available over the counter, and Redline is pretty much mail-order only unless you find a performance shop that carries it.

Gonna have to go with bounty on this one. I personally can tell ya that the AX5's love to eat snychro's if you're running anything but synthetic. I've had to rebuild two already. One was mine(I didn't know about the the GL5 till after the fact) and another was my budies. To have the snychro's done at a shop, I think was around $600-800. I did it myself adn Ionly had to do 1st gear on mine. I belive that the synchro cost something like $200 for parts, I could be off, it's been awhile. Good luck, Hope ya can get it up and running.

best off buying a used transmission and taking great care of it.... the synchros are what help you get into gear without grinding, so if you are having a hard time into gears... then you're singing the brass synchro blues. are you getting a noise even while driving, and when it is IN gear?
