Transmission swap?

I have a 89 YJ with the 258 six and the Peugeot BA10/5 - 5 speed transmission that's making some noise and looking like it'll need attention soon. Gulp. What I'm wondering is about swaping in a Aisin AX15 - 5 speed offer later after the six cylinder. I understand it has a tougher design and an external clutch slave cylinder. Anybody been there that can tell me if it's a bolt in swap or do I need to change bell housings and stuff?

I have been lookin into the same thing with my 88 YJ. If you find and AX=15 built between 89 to 94 it will use the same internal cluth slave cylinder you have with the BA-5. You will need to change the input shaft on the transfer case from a 21 spline to a 23 spline shaft(advanced adapters). When you buy the transmission, get the shifter and bellhousing with it. Let me know how it goes.
