Transfercase oil

Anyone like to remind me the correct oil I can use in my transfer case?

1995 Cherokee xj. Oh and it was 90 weight for the differentials right?

I'd look in your manual. I just changed mine (2005 TJ), and the manual called for ATF+4.

ATF+4 for NP231 and NP241. Gear oil is too heavy for the oil slingers inside the T case.

Alrighty got ya. I don't have a manual yet for my Cherokee. It's in the works though.

Now on a local Arizona board several members said they use 30wt synthetic oil in there transfer case claiming that ATF doesn't have any lubricating properties.
Going to start a web based investigation, sounds good,doesn't mean its actually good though.

Ever get a confirmation on the 30w synthetic in the transfer case?
