Im checking out this jeep closely to see what kind of damage it suffered but can not find the repair area no matter how close I look. It Would be my first Jeep Wrangler. I have owned a Cherokee at one time. It is a rebuilt title but I can not see where the damage may have occured. I know it could be a theft car and/or storage, impounded car with miminimal prior damage. The price is about 1500 under what it should be. Any thoughts ,advice or anyone willing to run a vin check for me? Thanks in advance.

Check the big things,Frame, engine ,trans etc. Check suspension, look at fluids, does it look like things were factory mounted or did "Bubba J" use self tapping screws to put it together? look at all attachment hardware on the roll bar grill areas of points of impact etc.. Many vehicles are theft recovery and were stripped and "rebuilt". Insurance companies will total a vehicle if the cost to rebuild exceeds 45% of actual vehicle blue book. Is it original paint or has it been repainted? undercoating and rhino liners although great products for protection are sometimes used to hide rust and weld joints on body panels.
If it looks original and does not look too tampered with chances are it was a theft . Ask the seller for verification if its the original owner.
If you feel uncomfortable buying it,Walk away!

The reason Jeeps with rebuilt titles are cheap is they're hard to sell. It may be a real deal and you get many miles out of it. It's when you go to sell it is when you'll take a beating.
