I have an unlifted yj. What are the biggest tires that i can put on there without them rubbing? I plan to do a shackle lift next summer. just looking for some adice. thanks

I ran 31's on my YJ until I put a Daystar (1.25) shackle lift on. Though I wouldn't recommend doing it for anything but driving on the street because the clearance is pretty tight. Also depending on how wide your tires are, you might rub your frame a little when turning tight.

I have a 95 YJ am am putting 31x10.50.x15 tires on it this weekend. I am putting a 2" body lift on it tomorrow. I have asked around everywhere. local mechanics and lift guys and they all told me that 31s will fit with no lift but they will rub at the slightest flexing. like hitting a pot hole in the road they will rub the flares. I do a good bit of wheeling during the winter (hunting season) and some on the weekend other times of the year and that is why I went with the 2" body lift. I may put 1" lift shackles on too, but I am waiting to see how it performs and looks after the 2. I will try to get some pics up when It's completed.
