Tire and wheel sizing

I am trying to figure out if my 2000 Jeep Cherokee(Stock) can handle a 17' wheel and 31's

I have 2 inch lift on my 2000 XJ and it will only handle 30's without rubbing.

You'll need at least a 3" lift to fit 31", maybe even 4" to prevent rubbing.
