Thought I would share.....

So, I purchased this new thing-a-magigy so I could hook up my iPod and not have to worry about static like the adapters that transmit through the fm stations. This hooked directly into the back of my stock head unit. I can control the basic functions of my iPod right from my stock stereo. I freaking love it! Sounds great! I am going to route the cable through my center console so I dont have wires hanging out all over the place. Well worth the price!

I had some help installing it so I thought I would post a pic. Good help is hard to find these days!

Very nice. Where did you get the "thing-a-magigy"?

And I have to ask, what is the switch with the red cover?

Its made by Peripheral as you can probably see in the pic. I got it from Crutchfield. Installed it last night and it works and sounds great! Ah, good eye there......the switch is a locker override. It allows the use of the lockers in any T-case setting. I was bored one day and had the parts so.....what the hell.

Would that work with an IPhone 3G as well?

I didnt mean to ignore ya....I didnt realize there was another post on this thread.

I am not sure if it works with the IPhone or not. You could check Crutchfield or Google the manufacters website to find out I am sure. I had to buy a different cable than the one that came with it so it would charge my 4th Gen Nano (which is 5volt) It would have been nice if they would have told me that......I found out the hard way.

Can somebody please elaborate on this locker override? I'm sure there is probably a thread, and I tried the search but was unsuccessful.

Thanks

EDIT: Nevermind, found some threads. :D

He most likley has a rubi which has a locker in the front axle that only works in 4 lo.It is an electric locker so some people will splice into it and wire up a switch so they can use it in 4 hi also.

OMG that dog looks SOOO much like my little MILO (the white/gray one)! I just have to ask you about yours. What a little precious! Ours are both Schnoodles, and they love to ride in the Jeep, any time anywhere!

No car sickness, and top-down. Of course we keep their leashes locked down. Responsible Jeep owners should = responsible pet owners, right? :shades:
