Thank you jeepz forum members!!! My 89 yj

With 192 k it runs great. 5 speed with original 4.2 motor. I plan on keeping this yj forever and just replace drivetrain when ever it blows up someday. Money is tight right now with newborn, 2 other boys and wife not working, but next few months plan on putting in 4 inch rubican lift, flares, and fill the body lift gap. Thanks again jeepz members!!!! I LOVE MY JEEP

Thanks bacon :) I finally got it looking good. Now got to get to all the little stuff it needs. A radio, oil leak fixed, carb worked on, etc, etc, etc, it will never end lol but I really enjoy working on it

Nice job! I did have a question for you, how many gallons of durabak did it take? Also you mentioned doing three coats, was one to thin? Or did you just need to use up what you bought?

Took 2 gallons for the 3 coats. Yellow going over black is tough to cover. And these be liner paints look much better when applied in thin coats. If you go thick, you may get some runs, and also you may get some spots where the textured tiny bumps don't show up as well because if applied real thick, the textued material will settle at the bottom of coat and finish will not look as good

Thanks for the information. My dad is going to have me coat his cj5 this spring so I'm glad to know this in advance.

Welcome. Durabak comes in lots of colors and results are outstanding :)

Getting really excited now! My 4 inch suspention lift is going on this thurs. I ended up ordering rough country kit cause wife is b#t@hing about how i 'keep spending money on the jeep' so went that route to get it sooner and to catch less of an earfull lol. This one was prob over my head to install, so payin shop 450 to throw it on thurs. Will post pic when done :D

Just got the 37s on it today !!!!!
