T5 Transmission

I was flipping through the bargain hunter, when i saw a T5 transmission for sale that came out of an 85 CJ7. Does anyone have any info on these transmissions, im sure it will bolt up to my 4.2 (Which came out of an 83 jeep pickup). the only problem i have is making it fit my NP 207 T case.

The T5 is obviously a 5 speed. First gear is somewhere around 4.03:1 if I remember correctly, and 5th is overdrive. You can either love them for their gearing, or hate them for their tendency to blow the #*$@ up.

Same bolt pattern as the NP Tcases, but the pattern is clocked differently. The spline count is 23 and your NP207 is 21.

I have a tip for you or anyone with the T-5. Dont run thick gear oil even though that's what the manual says to do. Run 30wt.
