T max winches?

theyre milemarker winches, some guys on pirate had one and disected it and found parts stanped milemarker all in it.

Milemarker hunh. well that was my other option. Everyone I know has a warn. A few flatbed towtruck drivers swear by ramsey. Never met a superwinch, MM, or Tmax owner.. Im kinda looking for the cheap way out, probably go with milemarker or the t max.
What about the brand Collins bros sells... I think its "Black Mountain" ?
Theyre cheap I know that, but kinda too low priced.. any opinions?

Basically, you gotta look at your winching needs.........if you're going to be using that sucker constantly, or very frequently, I'd say spend the money and go with a Warn. I bought a "cheapie" and it's very slow, but it serves my needs (so far). Don't know much about the reliability yet (I've had some "issues", but it still works). Warns are much, much faster, proven track record (reliabilty), but very expensive. Lots and lots of cheaper knock-offs will serve the "occasional" winchers needs. The old saying about "you get what you pay for" pretty much holds true.

I had a MM hydraulic and loved it, Now running a W 9000 and love it also. One was slow but dependable. The other is faster and dependable.

not sure about tmaxx, but i know that milemarker's are pretty reliable. my old roommate had a MM, and it has saved both of us more than we need to discuss. the biggest knock about milemarkers is the single line speed... slow. if you're not going to be doing competition crawling or anything, a milemarker should serve your needs. if you want to spend the money, and get the bling, a warn will never let you down, and it will get you out of that sink hole faster

Slow isn't always bad, it often means 'safe'. You really have to watch what you're doing with my M8274 at 72ft./min. unloaded or you'll lose a hand.
But there's something to be said for the reliability and tech support of Warn, by winch was built in '76 and still works well, and can still get parts for it.

ill second warn, ive put more pulls on my xd9000i in the past 6 months that ive had it than most people have in a couple years. i used it about 6 times at tellico (5 of which were long pulls on lower 2 and were constant) 8 or 9 times at crozet, and about 5 other times at miscelaneous places along the line. ive beat on it hard and it needs a new cable but it runs like a champ for the abuse ive given it. my pulls are never easy because when i need a winch i REALLY need one. there are a couple people who have seen pics of how and where i wheel that can attest to that
o and if you look around enough you can find them for a good price, i got my xd9000i to my door for 750 off ebay, brand new. ship a 400 dollar 8k lb winch and it costs 475-500, warns m8000 goes for just a little more than that and im sure you can find it at other places with deals. warn has a reputation and every one of their products holds it. they may make smaller winches, but that doesnt mean that they make inferior winches. my buddys m8000 pulled a 13 different jeeps through a mud trench with only 3 or 4 minute breaks in between each 45-60 second pull. most eleectric winches dont run that kind of cycle and warn doesnt reccomend it, but thats a testament
