I just put re 5.5s in my tj now I got vibes. how long can I go before I get the sye done? I am trying to get one so I can do it sunday . I still need to drive though so am I going to really mess things up if I drive it. The vibes arenot that bad once I am maintaining speed its when I accelerate that I feel like I am getting a massage.

Drive as long as I did, till the drive shaft falls off! threw the drive shaft off the jeep twice. Thats when I went with a SYE.

You feel the vibes during acceleration because the pinion gets pushed down slightly under acceleration. Accelerate slow and you may be okay. I'm guessing you've installed a TC drop or you wouldn't be able to drive at all?

already have the t case drop Today I think the drive shaft binded on me it felt like death woble but was from the rear I have the advance adapters and tom woods drive shaft coming tuesday 485 damn this is getting expensive

the pinion will actually go up... because of the pinion gear trying to ride up the ring gear until the torque is actually taken by the ring/axle

You are right, I was thinking I had just asked my mechanic this and had it straight. I forgot I asked him if the pinion went down during engine braking, and he said it did. That's when I get a very slight vibe. I can't keep that straight.

Should be very minimal on a coil sprung jeep, as it'll only move as much as the control arm bushings will allow.

yeah... on braking... the entire axle assembly will roll forward as it is locked to the forward moving wheels
