Swap newer overhead console into 89 XJ?

I know I have seen someones write up on swapping a new overhead console into a 89 cherokee? Mainly I would like to use the compass and the newer remote door unlocks (ones that use RF, not IR). Any ideas or can someone point me in the right direction?
