Stuck In 4L

I just bought an 08' Unlimited Rubicon with 17k miles and yesterday I put the wrangler in 4L and did some off roading. Well when I went to put the car back into 2H the lever moves freely. Well I read on forum that there is a plastic retaining clip that holds the cable that breaks easily and there is an easy fix using zip ties. I have no idea where it is located if someone could help me out or pictures that would be great. As they haven't activated my account over there yet so I can view the pictures.

There's 2 points where the rubber grommets in question breaks or comes loose. One is at the shifter lever assembly and the other is at the t.case lever to linkage. The zip tie is a band aid. Take it to a dealer and they'll fix it under warranty and install a revised grommet.

I fianlly got tire of constantly having problems with the OEM shift linkage and installed a Novak shifter assembly for the NV241OR. Without a doubt this is one of the best investments I've ever made on my rig and if you knew how much money I've spent you'd know this is saying a lot.

As with any transfer case the gears do have to be aligned to mesh but as for the linkage...it shifts smooth as butter and has not required any readjustments or attention whatsoever.
