Stock cherokee alarm doesn't work & wont arm.

I have a 1991 Jeep Cherokee L6 4.0L with 133,000 miles. The stock chrysler alarm has stopped arming itself when I lock my doors like it used to. It also doesn't go off when I lock the door then reach in the open window and flip the unlock switch. Can anyone help me?
